The laboratory of Surgical Operations

Founded in 2005, the laboratory of Surgical Operations is managed by the Experimental Teaching Center for Basic Medical Sciences at the School of Medicine, Nankai University. Supported by the LAN and the animal resource center, this laboratory is equipped with simulation teaching instruments including the medical patient simulator. There are a total of four experiment instructors in this laboratory, including one associate professor, one assistant professor and two technicians, who are now undertaking the course of Surgical Operations, Surgical Skills Training, and the Introduction to Clinical Medicine for medical students, and a public course for university students, the First Aid and Disaster Response. They offer over 400 experimental teaching hours for about 500 students per year. Meanwhile, faculty in this laboratory have also gained substantial achievements in teaching reform and the renewal of teaching materials and experiments. They have supervised the research projects of undergraduates and published a few of research articles.
