On January 3, 2018, the CPC Central Committee's Organization Department announced in Tianjin the appointment of CAO Xuetao as the President of Nankai University succeeding GONG Ke.

CAO Xuetao, M.D., Ph.D., born in July, 1964, started to work from September, 1981 and achieved his Ph.D. from the Second Military Medical University. In 2005, Dr. Cao was elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
