To improve students’ ability in independent learning and innovative thinking and promote their all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education, the School of Medicine recently organized the 3rd Anatomical Atlas Competition to provide a platform for students to show their professional knowledge and artistic qualities.

This competition received a total of 40-plus anatomical drawings. Participants used their brushes to transform anatomical knowledge into lifelike artworks, reflecting the integration of professionalism, skills and art. After scoring by professional teachers and online voting, Wang Ruiyang from Class of 2020, majoring in Clinical Medicine, won the Grand Prize by virtue of his sketch work “Bone Stents of Head and Neck”. Hu Taoyu and Wang Yifan, both from Class of 2019 and majoring in Clinical Medicine, respectively took the second and third places with Arteries of the Large Intestine and Anatomical Sketch.

After the event, Liu Yuchen, a student of Class of 2020 majoring in Clinical Medicine, said, “This activity is full of fun. It allowed me to discover many details that I overlooked before and deepen my understanding of the professional knowledge about anatomy.” Teachers serving as judgers for the competition also expressed their recognition and appreciation of entries, “This event provided a glimpse of medical students’ ability to observe carefully, think thoughtfully and express accurately, with a relatively high professional level.”
