On November 20, the inaugural meeting of NKU Siyuan Academy (8th Wisdom Academy) was held in the Building of Medicine School in Jinnan Campus. It was presided over by Tan Xiaoyue, Vice Dean of School of Medicine, attended by Wang Yan, Director of Tianjin Eye Hospital and The Affiliated Eye Hospital of Nankai University, Xia Yan, Vice Dean of Faculty of History of NKU, and Professor Gao Haiyan, Director of School of Medicine, and participated in by the first batch of tutors of Siyuan Academy and more than 50 first-term Siyuan Academy students from different schools and departments of NKU.

The establishment of Siyuan Academy is a powerful measure of NKU to practice the teaching philosophy of Teachers and Students Make Progress Together and implement Forty Articles for Improving the Quality of Undergraduate Education. Siyuan Academy, as the 8th Wisdom Academy, is committed to improving the people's health, and exploring the social and humanistic attributes of medicine. It will create an educational atmosphere of Teachers and Students Make Progress Together, further spread the humanistic care spirit of medicine, and increase students’ consciousness of providing the health service.

Dean Wang and Director Gao jointly unveiled the nameplate of NKU Siyuan Academy, and the latter issued letters of appointment to the tutors present.
