NKU News Network (Reported by Fu Kun and photo by Zong Qiqi) On   April 22, Shi Yigong, CAS Academician, President of Westlake University and a   structural biologist, came to Nankai Park to give face-to-face lectures to and   have exchanges with NKU faculty and students.

In fact, you guys may not have thought that   I have admired NKU for a long time, but today is my first visit to NKU. I am   really happy to make such exchanges with undergraduates when I first came to   NKU campus.

At 10 o'clock in the morning, Academician Shi   Yigong appeared in NKU classroom on time, which caused prolonged applause   from faculty and students on the spot and made the long-lost NKU offline   class popular. He set the theme of this lecture as Beauty   of Life and Brilliantness of Structure, and shared his views on science   with faculty and students through the macroscopic astrophysics and   microscopic life sciences.

Lyu Beika, an undergraduate from the class of 2022   majoring in stomatology at School of Medicine, NKU, said: After   listening to Academician Shi's lecture, I may learn more about the research   on the combination of AI and my major. In addition, I will think more about   it to explore more possibilities for the combination of existing operations   and AI. Of course, the premise of all this is that I shall reserve solid   subject knowledge and know about skilled operation techniques. Only in this   way can I pursue the excellence.

The class given by Academician Shi Yigong is the   sixth lecture of the general elective course Frontier and Challenge of   Medicine led by famous teachers, which attracts more than 100,000 people to   attend classes online in addition to the offline class. This course was   initiated by Cao Xuetao, president of NKU. Since its establishment, it has   been well received by young students and has become the highlight of online   teaching in colleges and universities all over the country.
