On the afternoon of May 12, the white robe awarding ceremony for undergraduates majoring in Ophthalmology & Optometry in 2022 and the scholarship awarding ceremony were held in the lecture hall on 4^th floor of Eye Hospital, NKU, and attended by Gao Haiyan, Director, Zhang Yan, Vice Dean of the School of Medicine, representatives of teacher, Wang Chunge, Director, Wang Yan, President of Eye Hospital, members of the leadership team and some representatives of doctors.

On the occasion of International Nurses Day on May 12, School of Medicine and Eye Hospital held a white robe awarding ceremony for undergraduates majoring in Ophthalmology & Optometry and scholarship awarding ceremony to encourage students majoring in Ophthalmology & Optometry to study hard, make positive progress and contribute to the cause of Ophthalmology & Optometry.

At the ceremony, Director Gao Haiyan awarded the scholarships to students on behalf of the School of Medicine and delivered a speech. He emphasized that General Secretary Xi Jinping paid special attention to the visual health of children and adolescents, and made important instructions in 2018, calling on the whole society to take action to take good care of children's eyes and make them have a bright future. Over the years, School of Medicine and Eye Hospital of NKU have cooperated closely to carry out personnel training and scientific research, and wrote a much told tale of the cooperation between comprehensive university and affiliated hospital in medical teaching and research. Director Gao Haiyan pointed out that Ophthalmology & Optometry is promising, and expressed the hope that every student would bring light to more patients with eye diseases.

Director Wang Chunge and President Wang Yan awarded scholarships to students and delivered speeches. They pointed out that in order to better promote the development of Ophthalmology & Optometry, the Eye Hospital has continuously strengthened the cooperation and exchanges with School of Medicine, NKU, and made some substantial progress, such as establishing the Institute of Ophthalmology, NKU and jointly building the teaching system of ophthalmology. President Wang Yan pointed out that the white robe awarding ceremony is an important lesson in medical humanities education, which means that students have turned a new page in their medical career.  Every student is hoped to take noble medical ethics and superb medical skills as their lifelong career pursuit, explore the mysteries of life, uphold the feelings of helping the people with benevolent mind and heart, bravely shoulder the heavy responsibility for life, and grow into an excellent medical worker at an early date.

Director Wang Chunge congratulated the students who won various scholarships and affirmed their academic progress and growth. He expressed the hope that all students will strengthen their knowledge reserves during their study in university, consolidate their clinical practice skills during their internship in hospitals, and turn themselves into elite talents with excellent comprehensive quality.

After the white robe awarding ceremony, the medical students made the oath led by President Wang Yan. The powerful, generous and exciting voice echoed in the lecture hall, inspiring every teacher and student present.
