A delegation from the Faculty of Medicine of  Universidad de Los Andes (The University of Los Andes), Colombia, paid a 5-day exchange visit to Nankai University on October 17-21. Visitors included Natalia Mejía Gaviria, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine of  Universidad de Los Andes, as well as five medical students.

They visited the Eye Hospital Affiliated to Nankai University, the Tianjin Union Medical Center of Nankai University, Medical International Collaborative Innovation Center, and Siyuan Hall. The faculty and students from NKU School of Medicine held academic lectures, lecturing of professional courses, and academic salons to have close exchanges and discussions with their Columbian counterparts on medical studies, employment, and cultures of the two countries.

Secretary Gao Haiyan, Vice Dean Yang Shuang and lecturers Shi Yi and Piao Yongjun of the NKU School of Medicine organized a workshop with Professor Natalia Mejía Gaviria. Both sides introduced their development of medical education, agreed to deepen the bilateral cooperation, and reached a consensus on student or teacher exchange visits as well as teaching and research interactions.
